How important do you think the issue of race has become in the presidential election?

Very important. When we talk race, when we talk gender, it’s very important! We’re talking inclusiveness. About time! Christopher Bufford

Race is a major factor in this year’s campaign. It is being used to instill fear and mistrust of one another, thereby further polarizing our nation. It is hindering any real dialogue on the issues relevant to the lives of the American, such as a failing economy and lack of responsible heath care alternatives. Deborah Younger-Mitchell

We already have historical connections to the presidency. Look at John Hanson, a Moor, who held the title of president of the United States. Kevin W. Thomas

I don’t think race is really an issue. I think the best person will win. I think Obama is the better candidate.

I think that it was always an issue, from the first election held in America to today. Race has always been an issue. The problem is, we cast votes for particular candidates based more on personal feelings than the individual’s ability to perform the duties of their office. Guy Smith

Race is important as it relates to history and will ultimately be a determining factor in the minds of many for how they cast their votes. Milton Jones
