Community Catalyst is a national not-for-profit consumer advocacy organization working to build a health justice movement. We seek a Project Associate to be responsible for providing timely and efficient support to the Director of Policy for The Prescription Project and other program staff as needed. Community Catalyst is undertaking The Prescription Project in partnership with the Institute on Medicine as a Profession (IMAP).  The Project will address conflicts of interest in medicine caused by pharmaceutical industry marketing. It will also promote evidence-based medicine to improve patient care, decrease health care costs and ensure continued public trust in the medical profession.  

QUALIFICATIONS

·      A bachelor’s degree and two years’ professional work experience in health, advocacy, pharmaceutical or a related field preferred.

·      Strong organizational skills and demonstrated success in prioritizing multiple tasks and duties.

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·      Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and projects.

·      Strong computer skills including expert use of Microsoft Office and database experience.

·      Ability to independently initiate processes to streamline work.

·      Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a variety of settings.

·      Bilingual/bicultural applicants encouraged to apply.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

·      Assist in coordination of national academic medical center campaign

·      Assist in the implementation of the Project’s federal strategy

·      Conduct internet research and reviews of the medical literature

·      Assist with research and writing of policy documents

·      Furnish administrative support include filing, data entry, and mailings.

·      Provide scheduling support for staff; coordinate travel arrangements for project staff.

·      Assist in all phases of project documentation, production and distribution, including maintenance of email list.

·      Maintain project database, contacts and materials; assist with internal communications such as project reports and weekly calendar.

·      Coordinate meeting logistics; participate in project meetings and generate meeting minutes.

·      Perform special projects upon request.

·      Drafting memos and correspondence and proof read Project documents

Salary Range: $35,000- $45,000 annually
