The Mildred Avenue Middle School Drama Club — featuring Keturah Brewster, Bunett Bain, Jahmar Lewis, Wynton Myers and Julie Vo of Dorchester, Wilberson Altidor and Diamond Burrell of Mattapan, and Roxbury’s Ayesha Butler — performed “The Dancers” by Horton Foote as part of last weekend’s 13th Annual Middle School Theater Festival, competing against five other state schools. High school seniors and Steppingstone Scholars Anthony Mathieu (left) and Nnaemeka Ekwelum (right) recently received full, four-year college scholarships. Mathieu, a Boston Latin Academy student from Mattapan, received a Posse Foundation scholarship to attend Hamilton College in upstate New York, while Belmont Hill School’s Ekwelum earned recognition as a Gates Millennium Scholar and will enter Columbia University in New York City. Members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation dedicate an American elm tree, the official state tree of Massachusetts, on behalf of state residents. The tree was planted on the grounds of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. A time capsule prepared by Sen. Edward M.
